Service of Celebration for Ralph Norton, will be 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Nov. 5) at the Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church, 683 West Ohio Avenue, Lake Helen, with the Rev. Reginald B. Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow the service at Suber Memorial Gardens and a repast to follow at Melissa Park. Calling hours will be held in the church today from 9 a.m. until time of service. Life was given to Mr. Ralph Willard Norton from Will Norton (now deceased) and Mrs. Arlean (Campbell) Whites. He was called to sing in God's choir October 26, 2005. He attended Lake Helen Elementary and was a graduate of Euclid High. He gave his life to the Lord 56 years ago and was an active member of Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church of Lake Helen and sang in the male chorus. He was a foreman in construction from the age of 17 until the age of 58. During this time he married Pinkie Robinson and to this union three children were born. Leaving to cherish his memories: Pinkie L. Norton, Miami; two sons, Ralph Bernard Norton, Miami, Alfonso Norton (Sandra), Miami; one devoted daughter, Shielda Renee Norton, DeLand; loving and devoted mother, Arlean Campbell Whites, Lake Helen; four sisters, Juanita Adkins (Archie), Miami, Mamie Whites, Lake Helen, Charlotte Jones, Iris Whites, Daytona Beach; three brothers, the late Jerome Norton (Juanita), Kevin Whites, Javar C. Whites Sr.; grandchildren, Shawante Norton, Atlanta, Ga., Nasheika Norton, DeLand, Demario Norton, Atlanta; three aunts, the late Luella Artimus, Mary Rivers, Deerfield Beach, Corrine Small, Miami; five brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and friends; close friends, Ernestine Adams, Mrs. Kelly and Paula Johnson; special thank you to Hope Percy and Joseph Wesley and the staff of Hospice (Mrs. CeCe).
