ZIMMERMAN, ROBERT FRANKLIN, 97 Mr. Robert Franklin Zimmerman, 97 of Keystone Heights, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Gainesville. Mr. Zimmerman was born January 10, 1918 in Mount Healthy, Ohio to the late Everett L. and Nellie (Sampson) Zimmerman. He was retired from CSX after working 30 years, and an Admiral in the Cherry Navy and a Kentucky Colonel. Bob loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and was a FCRV member. He was an avid musician and played the piano and saxophone, loved Gospel music, and was a member of the church choir his entire life. Preceding him in death were wife of 61 years, Ruth Frances Lambert, his parents Everett and Nellie Zimmerman, brothers, Roy E., and Ramon F. Zimmerman, daughter, Sally J. Hatmaker, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Survivors are his daughter, Ruth Ann (Richard) Baker, sons, Robert L. Zimmerman, and James F. (Charlotte) Zimmerman, nephews, Samuel E. Zimmerman, and Philip R. Zimmerman, grandchildren, Richard A. Baker, Theressa (Garry) Dillon, Alice (Don) Sprague, Boyce (Jennifer) Baker, James Baker, Kristin (Ed) Hess, Marc (Stephanie) Zimmerman, Justin Morton, Stephen Zimmerman, Ann Marie (Tom) Craig, Arthur (Karen) Zimmerman, Adriann (Matt) Downey, Beth (Steve) Weeks, Cathy (John) Palmer, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Zimmerman will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 in the Chapel of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home, 340 East Walker Drive, Keystone Heights, with Pastor Steven Conner officiating. The Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the beginning of the service. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Huntington, WV.
