->READFIELD -- Percy L. Valley, 77, formerly of Readfield, passed away on Oct. 7, 2006, at Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, Va., of cancer.He was born on April 21, 1929, in Orleans, Vt., the son of Rose Valley, 103, of Newport, Vt., and of the late Perley Valley. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roger Valley and Paul Valley.He served in the armed services and was a retired real estate broker. The past several years, he resided in Little River, S.C., during the winter months and spent summers in Maine. He was a King Lion and a member of the Readfield Lions Club. His passions were traveling, fishing and hunting. Some of his favorite places to fish with his wife and children were in northern Vermont. He leaves behind his devoted wife and friend of 26 years, Jeannine R. Valley; son Thomas M.Valley of Farmingdale; daughter Lori J. Wilding of Morrisville, N.C.; daughter Kim M. McLaughlin of Mount Vernon; his stepchildren, Mark Scribner, Kristine Cornish, Laurie Grant and Donald Scribner; and seven grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and three great-granddaughters.A memorial service will be held in Maine in the summer of 2007.Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care Alliance of Maine, 20 Middle St., Augusta, ME 04430.
