GILMANTON ; Paul Elmer Johnson, 84, of 42 Wood Drive died Dec. 22, 2007, at his home. He was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Attleboro, Mass., son of Gustaf and Mary (Nelsen) Johnson. He was the widower of Marian F. Cash who died in 2003.Mr. Johnson has been a resident of Gilmanton for the past 30 years, coming from Massachusetts.Mr. Johnson was an agent for John Hancock Life Insurance Company for 15 years, retiring in 1985.He was an Army veteran.Mr. Johnson was a member of the Laconia Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed his ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses which he did until the time of his passing.He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed working around his yard.Survivors include one son, Steven L. Johnson; two daughters, Peggy L. Swift and Gail P. Weiss; grandchildren Karen Washkewits, Morgie Sulahian, Donna Weiss and Amanda and Paul Johnson; three great-grandchildren; and three nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Alvin Johnson, and by two sisters, Edith Bowen and Lily Dugas.There will be no calling hours or funeral services.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice Inc., 780 N.
