Paul Donald "Donnie" Cronkof Owego, N.Y.Paul Donald "Donnie" Cronk, 83, of Owego, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. He was predeceased by his wife, June M. Cronk; brother, Raymond Cronk; brother-in-law, Edgar Burrell; sister-in-law, Rosemary Cronk; son-in-law, Don Mosher; and grandson, Chad Mosher. Donnie is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis Mosher, Barton, N.Y., Joyce and David Miner, Owego, Juanita and Bob Bills, Fla.; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sissy Cronk, New Hampshire; his 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Burrell; his brother, Roy Cronk; his sister-in-law, Elice Cronk; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Donnie was born in Endicott, N.Y. on November 7, 1922, the son of the late Raymond and Eva (Therkelson) Cronk. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a cook on a submarine with the US Navy. Later he worked for many years as a self-employed plaster mason. He was a member of the VFW Post 1371, American Legion Post 401, Owego Moose and Elks clubs. Donnie enjoyed weekly social dinners, always trying to be the first in line. He also loved preparing large chicken barbeque dinners to enjoy in the company of his family. Donnie was an avid bowler, and was also an avid player, and sometimes winner, of scratch-off lottery tickets.A Funeral Service and time to share memories will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Rte 17c West, Owego, N.Y., on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at 1:00 p.m., where full Military Honors will be given by VFW Post 1371. Interment will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, N.Y. Friends are invited to call at Richards Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
