TANNER, Patricia Joan (nee Crisall)May 6, 1929 - September 30, 2012There is a new angel in heaven. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Pat while on a European holiday with her best friend and husband Reg (Bay) of 57 years. Pat has known Reg all her life. They attended Sunday school and kindergarten together. Their love for each other blossomed through grade school and they have been together ever since. Pat loved her adolescent years in Elbow Park with her three sisters and brother and attended the local schools, including Elbow Park Elementary, Rideau Park and Western Canada High School. She then attended and graduated in Nursing from St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, in 1953. Her greatest satisfaction and joy came with working in the pre-natal unit. She was involved with many groups while raising her four children. She was a founding member and past President of the Calgary Medical Ladies Association. Her love for music was a huge part of her life and she was never very far from her beloved piano. Some of her fondest memories were spent at the family cottage at Shuswap Lake. She spent many days there helping to forge a place where the family could relax, have fun and cultivate a strong sense of togetherness. Always a positive influence, Pat was a guiding light and source of strength throughout her life. She lit up any room she walked into. She will be sorely missed. She was a gracious friend to all, and loved by so many. Her kindness, generosity and elegance were revealed every day and with everyone she knew and met. Her greatest joy was to spend time with her husband, children, grandchildren and her many great friends. She is survived by her beloved husband Reg (Bay), four loving children, Richard Tanner and wife Shannon, Robert Tanner and wife April, Joan Weir and husband Gordon and Trish MacPhail and husband Ian. She was also loved dearly by her nine grandchildren, Jordana, Katerine, Victoria, Tiffany, Jessica, Charles, Alex, Mikaela and Tanner, one great- grandchild Berkeley and her sister Sylvia (Toby) Hannis. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church Calgary (3602 - 8 Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
