Olive Josephine Of 411 East Main St., Elkland, PA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 7, 2004. She was born on May 8, 1918 in Portland Mills, PA, to the late Charles and Myrtle Bullers Johnson. Olive married Lewis Thomas on June 14, 1935. Together they enjoyed 68 years of marriage, traveling, camping and wintering in Florida. Olive received great enjoyment from her family and is survived by her husband, Lewis; daughters, Ruth Anne Price of Elkland, and Diane (John) Spielman of Elkland; grandchildren, Pamela (Casey) Fish of Elkland, Michael Kelly of Williamsburg, VA, Katherine and Brian Maloney of Elkland; great-grandchildren, Meghan and Olivia Fish of Elkland; brother, Roy (Emma) Johnson of Elkland; several nieces and nephews. Olive was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth Edwards; and brother, Paul Johnson. Olive worked hard throughout her life and was employed at the Elkland Tannery Store, Corning Glass Works, Farmelo's Store and Elkland High School. She was a member of the Elkland United Methodist Church, Eugenia Rebecca Lodge No 465, Eastern Star and PennYork Fireman's Assoc. Family and friends are invited to call at the Kenyon Funeral Home, West Main St., Elkland, PA, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, from 1 to 3 p.m. with services immediately following. Rev. Lowell Watkins officiating. Interment will be at the Highland Cemetery, Elkland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Elkland United Methodist Church.
