HAMMOND, Newman Henry Warren January 26, 1911-June 22, 2009. Newman Hammond formerly of Spencerville, ON passed away peacefully at Carewest Glenmore Park in Calgary, AB with his daughter Janice at his side. Newman relocated to Calgary in 2000 and lived at Monterey Place Seniors Assisted Living Facility until April of this year. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Slater) and his sister Mona (Lilla) and Brother Charles. He is survived by his loving daughter Janice (Rick) of Calgary, AB., nephews Bob and Barrie Hammond & Chris and Lyle Slater and their families, nieces Diane Brown, Jill Reid and Susan Slater and their families. Also surviving are sister-in-law Jean Slater and Rick's children Dean & Brett. Friends and Family may call at the Grant Brown Funeral Home & Chapel in Spencerville on Friday July 24th, 2009 from 12:30 p.m., until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Interment to follow St. Andrew's Presbyterian Cemetery in the family plot. Reception following at Spencerville United Church. The family would appreciate Memorial Donations to Canadian Cancer Society, The Arthritis and Rheumatism Society or charity of choice.
