Decatur<!--Decatur-->Memorial service for Nancy Norman, 87, of Decatur will be Friday, July 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Milt Glor officiating and the Rev. Ted Koelln assisting. Her ashes will be interred in St. John's Garden following the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in St. John's Library. Mrs. Norman, who died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born March 9, 1922, in Canton, Ohio, to Stephen A. and Valeta Severns Douglas. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she served on the vestry. Her husband of 47 years, Charles "Chuck" Norman, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Jim Norman and his wife, Laura, and Doug Norman and his wife, Gayle; two daughters, Gale Kappler and her husband, George, and Barbara Howell and her husband, Robert; one brother, Charles S. Douglas and his wife, June, of Duluth, Ga.; five granddaughters, Cindy Stevens and her husband, Darryl, Kay Roberts and her husband, Patrick, Caroline Harper and her husband, Steve, Jessica Hamilton and her husband, Mark, and Rachel Morris and her husband, Matthew; two grandsons, Robert Norman and Forrest Howell; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mary Emma and Wallace. Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or to your favorite charity. Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
