Mr. Robert Michael Leahy age 85 of Lecanto, Florida, died Monday, April 20, 2009 in Lecanto, FL. He was born March 1, 1924 in Waterville, ME and moved to Hernando, Florida from Northern Virginia in 1974 following his retirement from the Federal Government. He was a U. S. Army Corp of Engineers veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Leahy was a former member of the V. F. W., Hernando, FL; the American Legion and the Moose Lodge, Wichita, KS; V.F.W., Honesdale, PA; and the B.P.O.E. Lodge, Inverness and Hernando. Mr. Leahy was preceded in death by wife, Merle Marie Leahy on December 31, 1997. Survivors include daughter, Janet Frances Leahy of Alexandria, VA; son, Michael Lance Leahy of Floral City, FL, their respective spouses, William Dooley of Alexandria, VA, and Sherri Leahy of Floral City, FL, grandson, Cody Robert Leahy and granddaughter, Nichole Marie Leahy.
