Michael Norman, of Ladner, British Columbia, passed away peacefully and was lifted up to the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Michael was born in Alexandria, Virginia on December 21, 1930, and raised in Montreal, Quebec by his parents, Henry and Marie Norman. Michael served in the Canadian Air Force from 1953-1958 and was stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Edmonton, Alberta. His final rank in the Air Force was LAC. Michael spent over 30 years with Canadian Pacific Airlines as a senior specialist and retired in 1988. In 1953 he married Karolyn Milbury and moved to Vancouver where they had their only child, Geoffrey Gordon Norman. Michael was an avid Notre Dame football fan, loved watching Hockey Night in Canada on CBC and spending time with his family. He often enjoyed trips to Mexico, Hawaii and Birch Bay and talked of fresh air, excellent food, and warm hospitality. Michael is survived by his son Geoff and his wife Stephanie. They have 2 children Parker and Cassidy who all currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky. Michael is also survived by brother Frank Norman from Kingston, Ontario, sister Marie Spetch from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 July 18th, 2012 at Ladner United Church, located at 4960-48th Ave. Delta, British Columbia.
