Libby, Mont. - Maurice Francis Egan died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, as a result of a single vehicle accident on US 37 outside Libby, Mont.He was born Nov. 18, 1962, in Huntington, N.Y., to Desmond Egan (Cathy) of Clinton, and Maura Flood (Austin) of Cheshire, England. Maurice was known to his many friends as "Moe". He was employed by Lincoln County Landfill as a truck driver. He served as a communications specialist in an "A Team" with the 12th Special Forces Group. He was also a member of a volunteer fire department, and was an EMT for Eureka Ambulance Service.Maurice was survived by his ex-wife and close friend, Denise Egan of Green, Ohio. His children, Meghan Haring (Scott) of Akron, Ohio, Michael John Slemensky (April) of Hernando, Miss., Corin Sleight of Tampa, Fla., Ashley and Corey Egan of Chicago, Ill. Brothers and sisters, Kieran Egan (Trish) of Chesapeake, Va., Susan Gallant (Gil) of Waterford, Ian Egan (Chris) of Austin, Texas, and Ann Marie Egan (Bill). Nephews and nieces, Krystian, Shana, Tyler, Kyle, Desi , Amber and Jessica; and granddaughter, MikaylaA memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at the Westbrook Congregational Church, 1166 Boston Post Road, Westbrook.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Maurice's name to the Connecticut Humane Society as Maurice had a great love for animals in need.
