Mary Deweese Watkins, 66, of 101 Richmond Drive, Greenville, formerly of Easley, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Cooper, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Reginald Oliver and Dovie Ray Polk Deweese. Her early career was in banking and sales. She has been an owner/operator of various businesses in the Easley area, including: Slenderizers Figure Salon, Foothills Plumbing Supply, Watkins Development Company, Inc. and A Cut Above Meats. She was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are her husband, Roy Carl Watkins of the home; two sons, Michael Ray Hanner and wife Pamela, Troy Watkins and wife Lisa, all of Easley; two daughters, Regina Lynn Hanner Byrd and husband Mark of Greenville, Tracy Christine Grider and husband Kevin of Columbus, Ind.; a brother, Harold D. Deweese of Cooper, Texas; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, with Reverend Brad McCarson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday night at the funeral home prior to the service from 6 until 7 p.m. The family is at the home.
