Mary R. Tighe of Chelmsford, born in Lowell; 87 Chelmsford Mary R. (Ganley) Tighe, 87, a resident of Chelmsford the greater part of her life died on Monday, November 5, 2007. She was the wife of Edward J. Tighe. She was born in Lowell on June 18, 1920 the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (O'Leary) Ganley. She graduated from Lowell Commercial College. Prior to her retirement she worked as a Secretary for St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Tighe also worked for the Chelmsford School System at the Westland School as a Teacher's Aide, at Remington Arms in Lowell and at Prince Cotter Company in Lowell as a bookkeeper. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Church and at Lowell General Hospital, and did volunteer work at St. Joseph's Hospital, Lowell. A former member of the Bereavement Committee at St. Mary's, a member of the Seaton Guild, of the League of Catholic Women, an auxiliary member of the League of Mary and a member of the Alpine Square Dance Club. Mrs. Tighe was a long time member of the Mount Pleasant Country Club. As a youth she enjoyed playing the trumpet at St. Rita's Cadets. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tighe is survived by a daughter; AnneMarie Tighe Komosinski and her husband, Michael of San Diego, CA. She was the sister of Robert J. Ganley of Londonderry, NH, Jack Ganley of Coltsneck, NJ, Charles Ganley of Silver Spring, MD and Estellyn Ganley of Framingham. Mrs. Tighe also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son; Edward J. Tighe Jr. and a brother Francis Ganley. TIGHE Mary R. (Ganley) Tighe, 87, a resident of Chelmsford for her greater life died on Monday, November 5, 2007. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 2-5 at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Chelmsford on Friday morning at 9 o'clock.
