Tierney, age 69, of the West Elm Street IRA and formerly of the North Willow Street IRA, passed away peacefully Friday morning Feb. 21, 2014 at Harding Nursing Home of Waterville.She was born on Feb. 20, 1945 in Syracuse, N.Y., a daughter of the late William and Doris (Robinson) Tierney.Mary was a participant of the Madison-Cortland ARC Day Habilitation Program for more than 18 years and resided at the North Willow Street Ira for most of that time prior or moving to West Elm Street IRA.Surviving are one brother, Robert Tierney; one sister, Kathleen Robinson; special friend, Candice Kirsch; and her ARC families at North Willow Street and West Elm Street. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, N.Y. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. immediately following calling hours at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Fellows officiating. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, N.Y.
