<!-- FH = Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home -->Mary LaFleurClemson, SCMary C. LaFleur, widow of Kermit S. LaFleur, formerly of Clemson Downs ,died March 20, 2011 at the Cascades in Greenville, SC. Daughter of Commander and Mrs. Ralph Crowley, she was born in 1917 in Jonesport, Maine. She was a 1939 graduate of Colby College (Waterville, Maine) where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Textile transfers brought her and her family from Maine to SC - first to Union, Spartanburg, and finally to Clemson, SC. Throughout her 93, years, a variety of interests linked her to the community in which she lived. Whether Junior League, duplicate bridge, Newcomer's Club, book clubs, or teaching English as a Second Language, she enjoyed the varied social contacts such activities provide. An avid and talented thespian, Mrs. LaFleur acted in and directed a number of Little Theatre productions in Union, Spartanburg, and Clemson. Along with her husband she sang in the choir of the local Presbyterian churches, most recently Fort Hill Presbyterian in Clemson where she also was an active member of the circles. For over 15 years Mrs. LaFleur was one of the Chi Omega advisors at Clemson University, helping the chapter establish a firm financial base at Clemson. Her eventual loss of vision did not diminish her love of literature; thanks to the services of the SC Library for the Blind, she was never without a book to "read" on tape. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Drs.
