GANNON Mary " Mitzie " Spictzler Gannon, age 85 of Milford, wife of the late Peter (Bill) Gannon entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 13, 2011 in her home with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport March 28,1926 to the late Matthias and Marie Spictzler, Mary was a longtime resident of Milford. She was a devoted Catholic and a lifelong member of Holy Cross Church of Fairfield, a member of the Ladies Guild and a willing volunteer, baking her specialties for many church functions. She enjoyed playing bingo and caring for her home. Mitzie will be fondly remembered as a very loving and giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured the times that she spent with her family. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Gannon Mauro of Fairfield, three sons, Peter Gannon of Milford, Richard Gannon of Milford and Mark Gannon of West Haven. Six grandchildren, Benjamin Mauro V and his wife Tina, Michelle Mauro, Shawn Mauro and his wife Michelle, Mark Gannon, Stephanie Gannon-Malcom and Michael Gannon and great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Ashley, Rebecca, Sarah, Bruce and Mark. In addition to Peter, her husband of sixty years, Mrs. Gannon was predeceased by three sisters, two brothers and her son in law, Ben Mauro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:15am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 11am in Holy Cross Church, 750 Tahmore DR., Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (TodaY) from 4 to 8 pm.
