Mary E. Hand of Kenilworth, N.J., formerly of Westfield, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield, on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Church, Westfield. Mrs. Hand was a homemaker who volunteered for St. Joseph School for the Blind in Jersey City, N.J. and also made recordings for the blind. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Hand. She is survived by her children, Joseph, Michael, Kathleen Guzy, Rita Zielenbach and Susan Hand. She will also be deeply missed by her 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Center for Hope Hospice.
