Mary C. Gale, 85, of Basking Ridge, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at home with her family. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m. at The Church of St. James, 184 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, N.J. 07920. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, N.J. 07920 Sunday, Dec. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. Mary was born Nov. 25, 1928 in Syracuse, N.Y.; she was the daughter of the late Russell Kiggins and Catherine Lavelle Kiggins. She and her husband, Robert W. Gale, enjoyed 61 years of a blessed marriage. She will be remembered for her strong love for God, her family, friends, bridge games, trips to Atlantic City, and Syracuse University basketball games. She was a member of St. James Church in Basking Ridge, where she was an active participant in numerous parish organizations. In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her loving children; Tim of Bloomsbury, N.J.; Judy and husband Paul of North Plainfield, N.J.; Betsy and husband Robert of Bridgewater, N.J.; Tom and wife Kristin of Racine, Wis.; John and wife Lisa of Murrieta, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Mary, and granddaughter Emma.
