WALLINGFORD - With broken hearts and tears in our eyes we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Ann Lunney Gannon, 68, of Wallingford, Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She was a loving and devoted wife to the late William J. "Bull'' Gannon.Born in Meriden on Aug. 1, 1942, she was the oldest child of the late Jeremiah and Mary Lunney. She was faithfully devoted to her Lord and God and has been a lifelong member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.She is survived by her four daughters and sons-in-law: Maureen and John Roche, Maryanne and Peter Graeb, Jessica and Michael Polansky, Jennifer Terzi; and her son, William Gannon. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her grandchildren are: John, Jaclyn, Stephanie and Rachel Roche, Ryan and Billy Graeb, Alexis and her husband, Neal Lyons, Mickey, Troy and Trevor Terzi, Michael, Jocelyn and Jesse Polansky, and Billy, Jeremy and Casey Gannon. Her great-grandson is Levi Lyons. She is survived by her mother-in-law, Isabella Leigus Gannon; her sister, Nancy Miles, of Branford; and her loving brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marie Lunney, of East Haven. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents; her father-in-law, William J. Gannon; her beloved husband "Billy"; her daughter-in-law, Agnes Gannon; her granddaughter, Danielle Gannon; and her son-in-law, Michael Terzi.Mary Ann, affectionately called "Mammy" (by her grandchildren) loved her family and based her life around them. It was all about her children and grandchildren. You could always find her cheering for her children at their sporting events as they grew up, and then her support carried over to her grandchildren at their events. She loved family picnics, parties and vacations. She loved to bake and cook. She loved gardening, pond building, bird watching, antiquing and art. She was selfless; it was her way. She found happiness in making others smile and putting everyone else first. She had a kind, gentle heart and the impact she has made on all of our lives is tremendous. She will never be forgotten. She will live in our hearts forever and will be missed on a daily basis. We pledge to keep the memory of our beloved mother/grandmother alive.Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext. Wallingford, Friday, June 3, from 4. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, directly at Most Holy Trinity Church at 9:15 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. www.wallingfordfh.com
