Avis de décès de Mary-Alice Watkins

-> Mary Alice Watkins, 79, of Savannah, GA died Monday, January 3, 2005 after a long illness. Mrs. Watkins was a life-long resident of Savannah and was very active at Southside Baptist Church. She was retired from Belk Department Store. She was a donor for the Red Cross Blood Bank where she donated over 36 gallons of blood. Mrs. Watkins was involved with childcare in the community and at church and also with sign language for the deaf. She volunteered with The Savannah Senior Citizen Groups at the Voting Poles, and the National Census. In Mrs. Watkins younger days she was an avid saltwater fisherman and loved the outdoors, teaching everyone about local flora and fauna. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Watkins, Sr. and a son, Roney Dan Watkins. Mrs. Watkins is survived by, four sons, John Watkins, Jr., of Rhode Island; Robert Watkins, of Kissimmee, FL; Lee Watkins and Andrew Watkins, both of Savannah; three daughters, Mary Barnes, of Savannah, GA; Nellie Driggers, of Musella, GA; Paula Millhouse of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends too numerous to count. Visitation: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 5, 2005 in the Chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Memorial Service: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home; interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Savannah or the American Red Cross. Hubert C.
