WALLINGFORD - Mario D'Agostino, 86, of Oak St., Wallingford, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. Born in Wallingford, June 11, 1921, a son of the late Vincent and Marie Boni D'Agostino, he had been a Wallingford resident for many years. Mario was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and had been employed by the U.S. Postal services in Springfield, Mass., for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Wallingford and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Major Raoul Lufbery Post No. 591, of Wallingford. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Josephine Urbano D'Agostino of Wallingford; his nieces and nephews, Mary and James Sullivan and Vincent and Karen D'Agostino, all of Wallingford, Vera and James Bailey of Vermont, Aldo and Cynthia D'Agostino and Fatima and James Marut, all of Meriden and Tracy and Anna Sullivan and Troy, Dean and Kevin D'Agostino, all of Massachusetts; and several grand nieces and grand nephews. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Aldo, Daniel and William D'Agostino; and his nephews Daniel D'Agostino Jr. and Dominic D'Agostino. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. www.wallingfordfh.com
