Marilyn Louise Rowe Ritchie passed away at home on February 21, 2011. She was 64 years old. Marilyn was born on January 11, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts and was raised in Wareham, MA. Marilyn attended Wareham High School. In 1978 she graduated from Upper Cape Cod Regional School of Nursing, where she received her credentials and began her nursing career at various hospitals and nursing homes in the Cape Cod/New Bedford area. In 1987 Marilyn moved to Washington State where she continued her nursing career and also began working as an electrical drafter for the Boeing Company. Marilyn later moved to Anderson Island in 2006. Marilyn had many hobbies and interests. She particularly enjoyed sailing, sewing, knitting, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Addie Rowe and her brother Frank Rowe. Survivors include daughters Dorrain Mullen and her husband Wayne of Issaquah WA, Darleen Ritchie of Renton WA and Dorothea Ritchie of Anderson Island WA. Brother David Rowe of Mercer Island, WA. Longtime companion Stephen E. Yates of New Bedford, MA. Three grandchildren Meghan Mullen of Issaquah WA, Audrey Ferguson of Renton WA and Nolan Ritchie of Anderson Island WA and many nieces and nephews. By her request, a private celebration of life will be held.
