Marillyan Jean Reddix Reid, 84, of Glendale, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home.Born Aug. 5, 1928, to Eda Pearl and William B. Reddix, Jean spent her childhood in Springfield before moving to Louisville. There she met her husband of 66 years. She taught Sunday school in Louisville and did volunteer work at Baptist Hospital for several years. Later she moved to Glendale to be near her family. She was a devout Christian lady who loved the Lord and her family.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Reddix.Jean is survived by her husband, Wallace Reid of Glendale; a daughter, Sherry (Ed) Philpott of Glen-dale; a grandson, Erik Philpott of Glendale; two great-granddaughters, Autumn and Laurel Philpott; one sister, Ann Keen of Elizabethtown; two brothers, David Reddix and Ronnie Reddix; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews in the Louisville and Elizabethtown areas.The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, in the chapel of Glendale Christian Church with Brother Mike Bell officiating. Burial follows in Glendale Christian Church Cemetery.Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and continues at 10 a.m. Friday at Glendale Christian Church.
