ST. MARS, MARIE AGNES "AGGIE" April 19, 1916 - March 26, 2005. Marie Agnes St. Mars, 87, of Portland died March 26, 2005 in hospice care at the F&M Foster Home. She was born the 19th of April 1916 and was the last surviving member of 13 children born to Moxee Pioneers Wilfred and Melina Sauve. She married Wallace Theodore St. Mars in Moxee on the 19th of November 1935. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Grandmother whose grandchildren all knew her as "Meir-Meir," their French Grandma. She loved her family dearly and worried about each and every one of them. She was raised in the Moxee valley and had many stories to tell about growing up with 12 brothers and sisters. She was not the youngest but always said she was "Daddy's little girl"! She loved crabbing and clamming on the coast and trout fishing in the Oregon lakes and streams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years and two daughters, Marlene VonEsson of Wenatchee, WA, and Janice McVey of Gresham, OR. She is survived by a son, Ted St. Mars of Woodland, WA, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church Friday, April 1 at 11:00am, followed by burial at Willamette National Cemetery. Donations to any local hospice.
