MARGARET RENE O'DONNELL May 18, 1913 - November 22, 2013 The passing of Margaret Rene (Reid) O’Donnell of New Bandon, NB, wife of the late Morley O’Donnell, occurred on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 18, 1913, she was a daughter of the late James and Irene (Wilson) Reid. Mrs. O’Donnell was a member of St. Augustine’s United Church, New Bandon, NB, where she was an elder. She was a Chartered Member and Past Matron of Hillcrest Chapter #40 Order of the Eastern Star, Boiestown, NB. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Velma Hovey of Toronto, ON and Vera Brawn and her husband Hilton of New Bandon, NB; son, George O’Donnell and his wife Ruth of Boiestown, NB; 11 grandchildren, Theresa Henderson, Andrew O’Donnell, Lisa Bamford, Jeff Hovey, Diane Perera, Bruce Hovey, Brent O’Donnell, Todd Hovey, Michele Sabri, Ian Bamford and Kevin Brawn; 18 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Muriel Cowie of New Bandon, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Margaret was predeceased by her daughter, Darlene Bamford; her son, Terry O’Donnell; son-in-law, Lawrence Hovey; granddaughter, Tammy Glover; great-granddaughter, Laura Glover; sisters, Annie Amos and Phyllis Reid; brothers, John, Bill, Ray and Cecil Reid. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Members of the Eastern Star will hold a Tribute Service at 6:45 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from St. Thomas United Church, Doaktown, NB on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul McGrattan and Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Margaret’s grandsons. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Bandon United Church Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice.
