Stratton, 71 OKEECHOBEE - Peggy Stratton passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Indian River Medical Center. She was born March 20, 1943 to Forest E. "Hunky" Pearce and Dorothy "Dot" (Roebuck) Pearce. Peggy was a faithful Christian, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Born and raised in Okeechobee, Peggy and her husband, Charlie, lived in Okeechobee their entire lives. While raising their girls, "Miss Peggy" was a teacher then Director for the First Baptist Church Preschool for many years. Thereafter, she was a devoted wife and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time in the pasture with Charlie, taking vacations, participating in the quilt ministry with First Baptist Church, sewing and most of all, spending time with her beloved family. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Charlie Stratton; two daughters, Leanne Swinson (Andy) of Beaufort, NC and Joy Mullendore (Scott) of Odessa, FL; three grandchildren, Kent Mullendore, Anna Melisse Swinson and Brody Swinson; and brothers, Roy Pearce and Dock Pearce. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jane Pearce Bartlett; and brother, Harry Pearce. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
