MARY BERNADETTE MEUNIER - BURLINGTON - Mary Bernadette "Bernie" (Daly) Meunier, 90, of Morgan Street, Burlington, passed away on Aug. 29, 2013, following a short struggle with cancer. She was born in Bristol, Conn., on March 3, 1923, to John Charles Daly and Martha Bernadette Crowley Daly. She graduated from Fair Haven High School in 1941. She received her RN degree from Fanny Allen School of Nursing in 1944. She married Jerome Thomas Meunier on Sept. 21, 1946, at St. Mary's Church in Fair Haven. She worked as a private duty nurse until 1954. She was employed by Fanny Allen Hospital from 1954-1966 and Birchwood Terrace Healthcare from 19661986. She was a member of St. Mark's Parish for over 50 years. She is survived by six children, James Meunier of North Bend, Ore., Jerome Meunier of Burlington, Paul and his wife, Bobbie Meunier of Forest Grove, Ore., Daniel Meunier of Roseburg, Ore., Marie and her husband, Robert Rock of Colchester, and Jane F. Vishnja of Burlington; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret Russell of South Glens Falls, N.Y., Elizabeth and her husband, Norman Lacharite of Winooski, and Eugene Meunier of Palm Desert, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerome, in 1987; and two brothers, Francis Daly in 1990 and Charles Daly in 1992. Bernie wishes to thank all who cared for her and touched her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark's Church on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at New Mount Calvary Cemetery.
