Lynette Louise Whelan, 73, of Flaherty, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at her home.She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ruby Frakes; a sister, Clara Mae Corbett; and a brother, Harrold Frakes.She is survived by her husband, John L. Whelan; a son, John L. (Tina) Whelan; two daughters, Liz Myers and Sheila L. (Jim) Stout; two brothers, Larry Frakes and Darold Frakes; two sisters, Elaine Youravich and Darlene Bieber; seven grandchildren, Blake Whelan, Zach (Jillian) Whelan, David Stout, Brad (Renéa) Stout, Ashley (Tony) Cantrell, Emily Myers and Ben Myers; three great-grandchildren, Adison Whelan, Callie Stout and Zoe Cantrell; and a very special cousin, Maggie McNally. A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty with Deacon John Richard Whelan officiating. Burial follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove. There is a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
