LINDA RUTH JOHNSTON1943-2008Linda R. Johnston, age 65, beloved wife, proud mother and adoring grandmother, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at her home in Lillian, AL.Linda was a proud Navy wife. She had moved about the country many times with her husband with whom she had raised four sons, and then with the love of her life, her second husband, John F. Johnston, with whom she helped raise four more sons.Over the course of their life together, Linda and John had shared more than 30 years of love and memories and had managed a large family with eight sons and 16 grandchildren. Linda loved each member of her family totally and unconditionally, and thoroughly enjoyed her life as a devoted grandmother. Besides her husband, being a grandmother to all these lucky children might have been the thing she loved most of all. She also enjoyed bowling, volunteering, and being with her friends. She loved the beach and the ocean and she loved her dog, Max.Linda is survived by her husband, John F. Johnston; sons and their wives, Charles M. Graham, Jr. & Joanne, Richard & Tamara Graham, Sean D. Graham, and Chris & Amy Graham; her stepsons, whom she loved as if they were her own, John F. Johnston, Jr. & Tammy, Chuck & Doris Johnston, Chris & Ronnie Johnston, and Frank & Jacque Johnston; seven grandsons, Colton, Barry, Austin, Logan, Nicholas, Tyler, and Nathan; nine granddaughters, Eimi, Jayme, Taylor, Lindzie, Carissa, Nicki, Darby, Charley and Erin; many friends and family who will miss her dearly. She enjoyed her friends and lived life to the fullest.Funeral service will be 12:15 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2009 at FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy with Pastor Tim Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel South from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 4.
