OLIVER, LILLIAN JENSEN, 88Gainesville - Lillian Jensen Oliver, 88, passed peacefully on January 31, 2014, in The Haven Hospice House, Gainesville, Florida. Born June 17, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late John and Dagmar Jensen. In addition to her parents she was predeceased in death by her beloved Aunt Signe Hansen, and her two husbands, J.M. Austin and Ralph Oliver. Prior to her last six years in The Villages, 5 years in Gainesville, Florida, and 5 years at Satellite Beach, Florida, Lillian spent most of her life in Miami, Florida, where her parents and three other sisters moved when she was a small child. Lillian was a member of the Episcopal Church. After graduation from Miami Edison Senior High School in 1943, she worked at Pan American Airways. Later she and her second husband, Ralph Oliver had a locksmith business. She was an active volunteer in many areas: Past President of Miami-Dade PTA, North Miami Art League; Eleanor Roosevelt Democratic Women's Club; Miami-Dade Zoning Board; League of Women Voters; Cub Girl Scouts; and Shriners with her husband, Ralph. She is survived by a son, James Michael Oliver and his wife, Alice; Barbara J. Oliver Shields and her son, Jason; John Oliver, his wife, Kim and daughter Katie; three sisters: June J Davis, Tallahassee, FL, Else Jones, Ocala, FL., Vilma and her husband Dominic Baragona, The Villages and many nieces and nephews. As per Lillian's wishes, there was no service or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to The Haven Hospice, 4200 NW North Blvd., Gainesville, Florida 32606. Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
