FITZGIBBON, Lillian Jean (Reid) In her 62nd year, died peacefully in Oshawa on Saturday, August 7, 1999, after a valiant nine month battle against ovarian cancer. Dearly loved by her husband Richard, daughter Michelle Ouellette and husband Stephane (Montreal), step-daughter Marjorie Fitzgibbon and partner Wayne Mallows (Ajax), step-son Christopher Fitzgibbon and wife Rahel (Bonn, Germany), granddaughters Stephanie and Chantal Ouellette, her mother Laura Reid (Marmora), her siblings Doug Reid and wife Elva (Springbrook), Bruce Reid and wife Elenor (Campbellford), Joyce Kleinschmidt and husband Rolf (Ajax), Marian Warren (Pakenham), Ivan Reid (Stirling), Judy Whiteman and partner Ed Boyer (Havelock) and enough loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews to fill this whole page. At Jean's request there will be a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 1999, in Oshawa at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East (905-433-4711) followed by a reception where refreshments and wine will be available. Jean loved her flowers in her several gardens but enjoyed them best in their natural state. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Scarborough General Hospital Foundation - dedicated to the Oncology Department - would be preferred. Special acknowledgment of thanks to Dr. Richard Colwill and his compassionate Oncology team at Scarborough General Hospital, Dr. David Mitchell (Toronto), the 5th floor Renal team at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, Durham Region VON and Sharon McDonnell (Beaverton). Jean was a playful and zesty lady with a big heart. She will be missed by many.
