Lillian Harding - Melbourne - Lillian Hedgepeth Parker Harding, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in Melbourne, FL. She was born January 13, 1924 in Nash County. Lillian was a native of Rocky Mount until she married her second husband, Roswell Harding February 15, 1991. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Guy Parker of 42 years. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She received a Registered Nursing degree at Rocky Mount Sanitarium. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over forty years when she retired. She is survived by her three sons, Patrick Parker and wife Vivian of Williamston, Jim Parker and wife Nancy of Clayton, and John Parker of Dortches; grandchildren, Brian Parker, Patrick Parker and Paula Parker; sisters, Iva Smith, Betsy Cooper and Faye Suggs. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Johnson Chapel of Nashville. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at Johnson Chapel of Nashville. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Chapel of Nashville, 226 S. Barnes Street, Nashville, NC 27856.
