<br><br><br> -->Lila Gilbertson Pritchard INMAN, SC-- Lila Winifred Gilbertson Pritchard, 89, of 200 Fortress Drive, formerly of Fort Worth, TX, entered into her Eternal Rest on Monday, July 23, 2007, at RoseCrest Retirement Center. She formerly lived at Summit Hills Retirement Center in Spartanburg, SC. Born October 1, 1917, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Elise Gilbertson, and was the beloved wife of the late Donald John Pritchard, to whom she was married for 53 years. Her parents and many of her older siblings immigrated from Norway through Ellis Island. The youngest of ten children, she was the first in her family to be born in a hospital and the first to graduate from high school. Survivors include two daughters, Marcy Pritchard Collins and husband Lester of Inman, SC, and Donna Pritchard Heiner and husband Clarence of Gatesville, TX; two granddaughters, Wendy Dinsmore Schmoyer and husband Terry, and Karen Dinsmore Busby and husband James, and four great-grandchildren, John Bryce Schmoyer, William Trey Schmoyer, Lila Isabel Busby, and Emma Holland Busby, all of Columbia, SC. Also surviving are five step-grandchildren and fifteen step-great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives in San Jose, CA, and Chicago, IL. Mrs. Pritchard lived in Fort Worth, TX, from 1949 until 1998. During that time, she was a member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, where she taught Sunday School, served on several committees, and volunteered her time at the Christian Science Reading Room. She was a former PTA president at Ridglea West Elementary School and a former president of the Worth Hills Garden Club. She was an excellent cook and hostess, and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends at home and on the family's sailboat, Marigold II. She had an artistic flair which included painting on ceramics, flower arranging, and hat making. Her specialty was hand sculpting miniature flower arrangements from bread dough. She was best known for her radiant smile. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. J. Michael Hensley. The family will receive friends following the service at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to Second Church of Christ, Scientist, 2112 Forest Park Boulevard, Fort Worth, TX 76110; or to Morningside Baptist Church, Senior Adult Choir, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
