THOMSON, LESLIE LOUISE, 88Cincinnati, Ohio - Leslie Louise Thomson, 88, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Hospice House in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mrs. Thomson, previously of Ocala Florida, was a resident of Otterbein Retirement community in Lebanon, Ohio. She was born July 17, 1920 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Hills) Garner. Mrs. Thomson was preceded in death in 2001 by John "Jack" Thomson Jr., to whom she married in 1941 and also their son, John "Jack" Thomson III, who passed away in January of 2009. She is survived by a brother, John Garner, of Jacksonville, FL and his wife, Betty; a daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Nieman of Maineville, Oh, and her husband, Harry; a son, David, of Auburn, AL, and his wife, Mary Ellen, a daughter in law, Lorraine Thomson of Ocala, Florida, and Mrs. Thomson's seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thomson graduated as a registered nurse from Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing. She worked in a variety of nursing areas during her lifetime but she was most proud of her years as a school nurse in Ashtabula, Ohio for the Buckeye Local School District. Until her death, she was an active member of the Otterbein Lebanon United Methodist Church and spent many hours volunteering her time working in the church office. In addition, she volunteered in the Adult Day Care Service area at Otterbein. Leslie made many lifelong friends through Lions Club, where her husband, Jack, was the Ohio State Secretary for Lions Club International. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed the time she was able to spend around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on May 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Otterbein Lebanon United Methodist Church .Her internment will be held at a later date in Ashtabula, Ohio. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in memory of Leslie L.
