Lena Margaret Brightman Barrett -Waycross, GA - Mrs. Lena Margaret B. Barrett, 97, of Waycross died early Sunday morning at Gardenview Assisted Living Home in Blackshear, Georgia after an extended illness. She was born in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Charles Brightman and Ella Lou Mull Brightman, but had made Waycross her home for most of her life. Mrs. Barrett worked as a secretary for the Department of Fish and Wildlife Services in the Okefenokee Refuge Office. She was a member of the Baptist Faith and loved nature, especially gardening and bird watching. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Barrett, a daughter, Aubrea Victoria Zeigler and a grandson, Jerry Richard Zeigler. Mrs. Barrett is survived by her daughters, Patricia B. Zeigler and her husband Ben of Savannah, Georgia, Nancy B. Fleury and her husband Andre of Blackshear, Georgia, Gerry B. Ferrell and her husband Steve of Rockford, Tennessee, 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other relatives. A graveside service will be held 11 am, Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, Georgia. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
