LAWRENCE EDWIN EATON "LARRY" MUNSTER, IN Lawrence E. Eaton, age 93, of Munster (formerly of Highland) passed away peacefully on the evening of December 20, 2014 surrounded by his children. He is survived by three children: Susan (Kenneth) Leland, Elizabeth Eaton, and Timothy Eaton; son in law Robert Nault; four grandchildren: Meegan Leland, Michael (Chrissy) Nault, Angela (Adam) Brenner, and Julia Nault. He was preceded in death by his wife Sophie; parents Ralph and Adah Eaton daughter Barbara Ann Nault; and grandson David Nault. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave, in Highland on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral mass to follow at Our Lady of Grace Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev Edward Moszur officiating. Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Larry was born in Hammond, IN on October 9, 1921. He graduated from George Rogers Clark High School and Chicago Technical College. He was employed by NIPSCO for 42 years in the drafting department. He served in the US Army during WWII in North Africa and Italy. He was a member of the 338th Engineers attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He returned following the war to marry Sophie Spieler on December 11, 1945. They lived in Hammond until 1951 when they moved to Highland. In 2005 they moved to Hartsfield Village in Munster. Larry was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Highland. He served as an usher and assistant Scout Master. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Home and School Association. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed "do it yourself" projects, woodworking, gardening, fishing, and camping. www.fagenmiller.com
