Laurette (Wally) G. Thomasof OwegoLaurette Thomas, 99, daughter of the late William and Gertrude Brown, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006, at the Riverview Manor. She was also predeceased by her kind and loving husband, Ralph Thomas; and brothers, William, James and Gerald Brown. She is survived by her much loved sister, Evelyn Nicholas; nephews, Jim and Brian and their families, all of Canada. Also the children of her late cousin, Phil and Helen Thomas: Carol, John, Phyllis, Mary Kay and Margy (her caregiver), along with their families who thought of her as Aunt. Wally lived a full and exciting life, and possessed quite a sense of humor and a giving heart. Donations to charities were common. She also grew to love the staff at Riverview where she became a longtime resident. The staff was like family to her. They were her angels. We are thankful for each one of you that touched her life. God bless you all.As Laurette wished, there will be no services. In honor of her memory, an act of kindness would be greatly appreciated: visit a shut-in, help the needy, give from your heart. Wally, we miss you already. You will celebrate your 100th birthday in heaven with your family; what a gift. God's blessings.
