August 30, 2008 Laura S. Andrews, 94, of Sterling, died Saturday at Michaud Residential Health Services, Fulton. A native of Sterling, she was a life resident. Laura owned and operated Laura's Beauty Shop in Hannibal for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal and the Altar Rosary Society. She was the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Tighe Andrews. Surviving are two nieces, Elaine M. Best of Fair Haven and Joan M. (Andrews) Becker of North Syracuse; two nephews, David B. Backman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Donald J. Backman of Oswego; and eight grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 923 Cayuga Street, Hannibal, with burial at St. Thomas Cemetery, Red Creek.
