McKINNON, Kathleen EmilyKathleen Emily McKinnon, 58, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2014 at Vancouver General Hospital. She was born in Chilliwack, B.C. on September 28, 1955 to her parents Marjorie and Robie Hartling. She was raised in the Lower Mainland and in Ottawa. On October 23, 1976, Kathleen married Robert Glenn McKinnon at Minoru Chapel. For the next 30 years they lived in Richmond together, raising their two sons. Over her life, Kathleen shared much of her time and talents in many volunteer roles throughout the community. At the time of her passing she held a career in freight logistics. Kathleen is remembered for her kind smile and for her thoughtful nature. She was predeceased by her mother, Marjorie Hartling and father, Robie Hartling. She is survived and lovingly remembered by husband Glenn; two sons, Kodi and Jesse; her three grandchildren, Kaleb, Ceara and Morley; and her seven siblings, Janet, Robie, Jo-Anne, June, Judy, Joy, and John and their respective families. The family would like to thank Oliveira Funeral Home for handling arrangements and also wishes to extend their gratitude to staff at VGH for their compassionate and attentive care. A Private Funeral is planned for family, as is a Celebration of her Life for family and friends on September 28, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Woodward's Landing, 11551 Dyke Road, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
