HAGAN, MRS. JASPER (KATHERINE), 90, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at Baptist Hospital East Hospice Unit. Katherine was an artist and teacher, having worked 27 years as a professional artist at Selman's, Stewarts', Kaufman's, and Byck's Department stores. She taught commercial art at the Art Center. She served as secretary to the Kentucky State Humane Federation and as president of the Kentucky Humane Society-Animal Rescue League. Katherine won a national award from the Humane Society of the United States for obtaining animal welfare laws in the city, county and state. She also won an international award from the United Animal Nations, USA, with headquarters in California and Switzerland, and also won other awards. She chose cremation with no services or visitation. Ratterman & Sons, 3800 Bardstown Rd. is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kentucky Humane Society-Animal Rescue League.
