CHAPMAN, Katherine (nee Wispinski) August 24, 1917 - June 21, 2009 Passed away at age 91In loving memory, the family of Katherine Chapman sadly announces the passing of their dear 91 year old mother and grandmother on Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Edmonton. Kay, born in Pakan, Alberta, was predeceased by her mother Anna Serdiak nee Franchuk; father, George Elaschuk both born in Bukovena, Ukraine; husband, James Edward Chapman; husband and father of her children Martin Wispinski and their first daughter Lorraine. Kay was also predeceased by her sisters and brothers Ollie Ransom, Rose Sloan, Bill, Peter, Nick and George Elaschuk. She has one surviving brother John Elaschuk and sister-in-law Mary of Toronto, as well as sisters-in-law, Jean and Olive Wispinski of Edmonton. Besides numerous nieces and nephews she leaves behind: daughter Marie McDonnell of Edmonton, (grandson Glen Resch and wife Marnie, great-grandsons Logan and Brady of Stonewall, Manitoba, grandson Seamus McDonnell, granddaughter Rosanne McDonnell and fiance Warren Robinson of Edmonton); son Jim Wispinski and wife Holly Megson of Victoria, B.C; son Tony Wispinski and wife Lori Siemens of Smoky Lake, Alberta (with grandchildren Jason and Ryan Wispinski, granddaughter Sarah Wispinski and great-granddaughter Britty of Edmonton);as well as son John Wispinski and wife Terrie Wispinski (grandson Jeff Wispinski and granddaughter Nicole Wispinski of Edmonton). The Family would like to thank both the Waterford of Summerlea Home and the Devonshire Care Centre for helping to provide the compassion and quality of living and care in Katherine's final years. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
