Jordan, Joyce A. (Conway) TROY Joyce A. Conway Jordan, 77, devoted wife and best friend of James R. Jordan, entered into eternal life on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Conway. Joyce was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy. After graduating, she attended Samaritan Hospital Nursing School. She spent most of her younger years as a homemaker and wonderful wife and mom. In her later years, she was employed by Michael J. Kane D.D.S. in Latham. Her greatest joy in life was her high school sweetheart, Jake. They met in the Five and Dime where Joyce was employed 60 years ago. They married in 1956 and lived the majority of their years in Troy and retirement years in Oak Hill. Joyce truly loved spending time building memories with her grandchildren and family. She had many cherished friends who brought joy to her life. Joyce enjoyed knitting, baking and gardening in her spare time. In addition to her husband, Joyce is also survived by her loving daughters, Kellie (Samuel) Chiappone, Kerry Vumbaco and Kristi Jordan (Rich) and her grandchildren, Sam (Michelle), Jessica and Joshua Chiappone, Conway and Kateri Vumbaco and her great- granddaughter Filomena Mei Chiappone. Joyce is also survived by her brother Walter (Eileen) Conway of Williamsville and was pre-deceased by her brother Raymond (Peggy) Conway and her cherished nephew Neal Conway. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joyce was sincerely devoted to the Infant of Prague. It is through this dedication that most of her prayers were answered. The funeral service for Joyce will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy and at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
