MELANSON, Joseph Charles "Chickie"-64, Nictaux, died February 8, 2003, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Leonard and Agnes (Shipley) Melanson. He was employed for many years at A.W. Allen's Mill, Middleton and Ivan Brown's service station, Wilmot. He is survived by his daughter, Laura (Gerald) Grant, Nictaux; sons, Michael, Nictaux; John (Marianne), Ingersoll, Ont.; sisters, Evelyn Taylor, Lawrencetown; Daisy (Raymond) Corbett, Woodstock, Ont.; Shirley Wile, Bridgewater; Helen, Nictaux; Barbara (Dennis) Robicheau, Nictaux; brother, John (Mary Jane) Melanson, Nictaux; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jean Wile; daughter, Julie; son, James; brothers, Fred and George and two in infancy; sisters, Mary and Annie. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m., funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, both in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating.
