John Paul Age 44, of 318 East Cortland Street, Groton, NY passed away Monday, July 22, 2002 at home after a two year battle with cancer. John was born Dec. 26, 1957 at Johnson City a son of the late Eleanor Neilson Zupancic and John Zupancic, Jr. of Richford. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Cortland Housing Authority in Cortland, NY. John was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing with his friends, trapping and baseball. Survivors include his wife, Shelly (Fulman) Zupancic of Groton; his father, John Zupancic, Jr. of Richford, a daughter, Jessica A. Zupancic of Dryden; sons, Michael Holcomb of Richford, Jason Warfe of Ithaca and Nealy Warfe of Syracuse; sisters, Linda (Bruce) Georgia of Richford and Darlene Pookie Zupancic of Berkshire; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; his in-laws, Glenda (Jeffrey) Brown, Tara Fluman, Lynda Fluman all of Wellsburg, NY, Sandra Thompson, Robert Fluman and Brenda Bubby (James Taylor, Jr.) Frey all of Elmira, Sue Walton of Chemung, and Tina Bateman Hamm of Virginia; a very special couple, Norman and Priscilla Ogden of Elmira. He was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Zupancic; his in-laws, Elmer and Marjorie (Cuer) Fluman. Memorial services will be at 4 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. James Willard of the Berkshire Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to call from 1 to 4 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY.
