Funeral services for John W. Anthony, 89, Ormond Beach, will be held today (Monday) at 5 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. His family will be receiving friends and family today (Monday), from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. John was born October 4, 1929, in Steubenville Ohio. He died Thursday, March 9, 2007. He was married to Frances Marie Anthony for 43 years and passed away on what would have been their 51st anniversary. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 82nd Airborne. He worked as a Journeyman Baker for 32 years. He retired in 1984. John came to Florida in 1989. In 1994 he joined the COP Program in Volusia County. He worked as area Director, District 3. His volunteer service was acknowledged by President George W. Bush and his brother Governor Jeb Bush. He retired from service in 2006 due to health. John loved helping people and serving his community. He also owned and operated Anthony Security providing security to the Airline Academy of Daytona Beach. He is survived by three children, John and Ruth Anthony, Morningside Md., Larry and Carol Martz, Erie, Pa., Tina Kenney, Ormond Beach; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Bill Anthony, Nick Kastellos; and two sisters, Joyce Mancini, and Virginia Bowman. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances; daughter, Linda Martz; two brothers, Tony Anthony, Little Nicky Anthony; and two sisters, Mary Kerns and Dora Buckman.
