PEPPERELL - John R. Fagan, 67, an engineer who designed medical devices, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 10. He was the husband of Patricia (Higgins) Fagan of Pepperell for 43 years.He was born in Jersey City, N.J., on June 6, 1936, a son of the late John and Mary (Kilgallon) Fagan. He grew up in Newark, N.J., and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.For four years Mr. Fagan lived the Jersey Shore where he worked for Bendix Corp. Later, he relocated to East Windsor, N.J., and worked for RCA Space Center as an aerospace engineer. He also worked for Ingersoll Rand in Princeton, N.J. He relocated to Pepperell 17 years ago and worked for C.R. Bard Corp., where he designed and patented numerous heart devices.Mr. Fagan was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors.In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, John R. Fagan Jr. of Newport, R.I., Joseph H. Fagan of Herndon, Va., and Kerry Ann Zadravec of Shrewsbury; a sister, Kathleen Tracey of Mt. Arlington, N.J.; and seven grandchildren, Devinne, Rhianna and Cailin Zadravec, and Conner, Bennett, Kirsten and Dylan Fagan.
