McMARTIN, John (Jack) WalesJack, beloved husband of Verena Mereb, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 at St. Mary's hospital, at the age of 93. Jack was predeceased by his first wife Hilda and his grandson Ryan McMartin. Caring father, he is survived by three children Lynne Jamieson (Bob), Ian McMartin (Judy) and Bob McMartin (June); as well as by Verena's children, Geraldine (Bruce), Cathy, and Sylvia (Massimo). He will be remembered as a loving grandfather by his eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren from his family, as well as by Verena's four grandchildren. Jack practiced family medicine for fifty years at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and is remembered as a kind and caring doctor who was passionate about his work. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, bridge and curling. Jack was greatly loved by family and friends alike and will always remain in our hearts. A memorial service will be held at Mount Royal United Church, 1800 Graham Boulevard in Town of Mount Royal, on January 21st 2012 at 2pm.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mount Royal United Church or to the Ryan McMartin Memorial Fund at the Montreal Children's Hospital.
