HANSEN, John Krogness, 84, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Minnea-polis, Minn., died in Tampa, October 29, 2010. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen Dorla Deen; brother, James (Lisa); fond daughters, Leslie Kling (Will) and Joan Teskey (Gary); devoted sons, Mark Hansen (Karen), Greg Hansen (Sandy), and James Hansen (Paula); and especially cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Melissa Ho, Anna Klein, Maureen Newman, John B. Hansen, Jensi Hansen, Greta Hansen, Nathan Teskey, Dane Hansen, Nicole Hansen, Samantha Teskey, Steven Hansen, Benjamin Teskey, Matthew Ho, Zachary Ho and Oscar Shaw. John served in the U.S. Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps 1943-1946, at the University of Minnesota. He received a bachelor' s degree from the University of Minnesota in 1946, a master' s degree in 1953, and a doctorate in educational administration in 1967. John pursued a lifelong career as superintendant of schools in Bathgate, N.D., 1948-1950, Crary, N.D., 1950-1955, Warroad, Minn., 1957-1959, and Fridley, Minn., 1959-1981. He retired in 1981. John was passionate about learning both in his work and in his retirement, with particular interests in computers, golf, history, and genealogy. In lieu of a funeral, there will be a private family celebration of his life. Direct donations in memory of John can be made to Scholarship Endowment in the name of John K. Hansen.
