<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->July 17, 1934 - Sept. 20, 2014 John J. Zimmerman, age 80, of Gardendale, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 20. He worked at Clelotex Corp as a plant buyer and was a volunteer at Carraway Hospital for many years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church but attended Hillview Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and a great friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob "Jake" Zimmerman, mother, Annie Zimmerman, sister, Ann Richard. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Zimmerman, brother, Walter (Emily) Zimmerman, nephew, Scott (Dana) Zimmerman, great nephew, Jared Zimmerman and various other nephews and nieces. Services will be Mon., Sept. 22, at 3 p.m. at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mark Barber officiating.
